I enclose herewith a letter from the above-named firm referring to consignment stock which was totally destroyed as a result of the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong.

A reply to a previous communication concerning this matter was made by the Colonial Office on the 23rd April, 1949, and you will wish, no doubt, to follow up the action in this

case.
